Academic English is a register, not a level: the citation, the hedge, the paragraph that argues rather than describes. These tutors work on your own essays and papers and teach the conventions your marker is reading for.
Lessons here run from $4 to $30 an hour, most of them around $15. 7 of the 8 have passed the WeaTeach assessment (1 master, 1 gold, 5 silver), which is also what caps the price they may charge. Between them they name Business English, Academic English among their specialties.
How do I choose between the academic english tutors on this page?
Watch the intro video first — you are choosing a person to spend an hour a week with, and half a minute of video tells you more than any description. Then compare the level on the card and the price, and try two of them with one free Trial Pass.
Can I book a academic english lesson at short notice?
Often, yes. Each card shows that tutor's next free slot in your own timezone, so the ones who can teach today are visible without opening a single profile.
