Online French tutors and teachers
Every french teacher on this page tutors privately over video and is bookable today. Watch their intro, see the level they were assessed at, and take a 25-minute trial before you commit to a course of lessons.
Lessons here run from $18 to $23 an hour, most of them around $20. All of them have passed the WeaTeach assessment (1 master, 2 gold), which is also what caps the price they may charge. Between them they name Conversation, TCF, DELF, French For Beginners among their specialties.
Questions people ask
How do I choose between the french tutors on this page?
Watch the intro video first — you are choosing a person to spend an hour a week with, and half a minute of video tells you more than any description. Then compare the level on the card and the price, and try two of them with one $5 Trial Pass.
Can I book a french lesson at short notice?
Often, yes. Each card shows that tutor's next free slot in your own timezone, so the ones who can teach today are visible without opening a single profile.
Which languages does the site work in?
WeaTeach is fully translated into English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Spanish, Swedish, Hindi, Thai and Vietnamese, including what tutors write on their own profiles.
How much does an online tutor cost on WeaTeach?
Lessons start at $5 for 50 minutes. What a tutor may charge is capped by the level they have proved in the WeaTeach assessment, so the price on a profile is always a real, bookable price.
Can I try a tutor before committing?
Yes. The $5 Trial Pass gives you a 25-minute trial with up to four different tutors, so you can meet several people before you settle on one.
