I became an English teacher because I remember what it felt like to sit in a classroom, staring at a textbook, memorizing rules that meant nothing to me β and feeling like language was something to survive, not enjoy.
That feeling stuck with me. So I made a promise: my classroom would never feel like that. Nine years and hundreds of students later, one thing hasn't changed β no two learners are the same. So I stopped relying only on textbooks. I build lessons around real conversations, movies, music, and even AI, because people learn best when they're actually engaged, not just going through the motions.
Because at the end of the day, I don't just want my students to pass an exam. I want them to speak with real confidence β because the English they learned with me actually belongs to them.
