People often ask me why I became an English teacher. The simple answer is that I genuinely love the English language. I love its grammar, its rhythm, its vocabulary, its poetry, and the way ideas can be expressed with clarity and precision. Learning English has never felt like memorizing rules to me—it has always felt like discovering a new way of thinking.
But my love for English is only part of the story. The real reason I teach is because I love watching people understand. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing a student go from "I don't get it" to "Oh... now it makes sense!" Those moments are what motivate me every day. Over the years, I have realized that I naturally notice where students become confused. I enjoy finding the right explanation, the right example, or the right exercise that makes a difficult concept suddenly feel simple.
Many learners believe they are "bad at grammar," "bad at writing," or "bad at speaking." I don't believe that. In my experience, most students aren't incapable—they simply haven't been taught in a way that matches how they learn. That is why my lessons focus on understanding before production. When you truly understand how English works, speaking becomes more natural, writing becomes less intimidating, and grammar doesn't feel like a list of rules to memorize. Whether we're working on everyday conversation, academic writing, essays, or IELTS speaking, my goal is always the same: to comprehend. I don't simply want my students to pass an exam. I want them to leave each lesson feeling more capable than when they arrived. Because learning English shouldn't feel frightening. It should feel adventurous.
