Hi there! I’m Maddie, an enthusiastic and experienced educator with over 20 years of dedicated work in teaching English, instructional design, and coaching learners of all ages—from middle school to PhD candidates. My passion for education goes beyond simply teaching grammar and vocabulary; I love understanding how people learn best and designing learning experiences that are creative, accessible, and truly effective. I have just completed my Master’s in Educational Design and Evaluation, and I’ve had the privilege of helping students succeed in IELTS, TOEFL, and Academic English programs. Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring new educational technologies, reading literature (a love that started with my BA in English Language and Literature), and learning Turkish and French. I’m here to support you in reaching your language goals with clarity, encouragement, and a personalized approach—because every learner’s journey is unique. Teaching Experience With over 20 years of teaching experience across both online and in-person settings, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding everyone from middle school students to PhD candidates and working professionals. I’ve taught IELTS and TOEFL preparation (scoring an 8 on IELTS Academic and 118 on TOEFL myself), General and Academic English, Anglais à des fins universitaires, and even English Literature, History, and Geography in English-medium classrooms. As the Director of IELTS QUEST, I’ve conducted needs assessments, designed customized language programs, and trained fellow teachers—work that deepened my commitment to learner-centered, goal-driven instruction. I hold a BA in English Language and Literature (graduated as valedictorian) and a Master’s degree in Educational Design and Evaluation at Bahçeşehir University (GPA: 3.96), along with a TEFL certification. My teaching methodology blends adult learning principles with instructional design techniques: I start with a thorough needs analysis, then build creative, accessible, and engaging lessons using the right educational technologies.
